Technology is slowly becoming part off societyââ¬â¢s daily activities. Once we wake up in the morning with the assistance from our alarm clocks, to the moment we turn off the lights to go to bed, we are regularly reminded that we are now living in a modern world. Technology is present everywhere we turn. One of the most important products of technology is the internet. The World Wide Web (www) is part of almost everyoneââ¬â¢s everyday life. In addition to the uses of computers, we can use our hand held devices to access the internet as well. The ability to have unlimited access to the internet from anywhere at any time has become the cause of a serious addiction that affects about one in every eight Americans; this addiction is referred to asâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Internet games are innocent fun, but sometimes, these online games become more than just play. It becomes an addiction. Once these games become an addiction, the addictââ¬â¢s psychological wellbeing is in j eopardy. Addiction to internet games is a growing epidemic. This addiction affects both children and adults. There are different types of internet games, ranging from fantasy to adventure; dress-up to sporting, and cooking to violent, no matter what, there is a game for everyone, which makes things even worse. Internet game addicts spend a great amount of time online playing rather than engaging in other activities. These addicts lose interest in their work, turn their backs on their friends and family, and simply erase anything that has no relevance to their game from their life. The internet is slowly disrupting their regular life pattern. The internet is slowly beginning to affect school age users. The internet is slowly hindering students from doing homework by their selves. It enables students to gain the information they need, simply by a click of a mouse. On the other hand, this great convenience can easily be abused. For instance, when an assignment is given, many students merely log onto their computers, search online for the information needed, and easily drag, copy, and paste the material.
